Welcome to the ICC-ES
SAVE™ Program
The Sustainable Attributes Verification and Evaluation™ Program (SAVE™) is a program created by ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) to provide independent conformance verification of sustainable products covering your “green” verification needs.
SAVE™, a voluntary program, has now been expanded to provide applicants with the options to have their products verified to multiple SAVE™ guidelines and to include information that can provide guidance on how the report subject may comply with the requirements of major green rating systems, standards and codes such as the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) and the ICC’s National Green Building Standard™ (ICC-700-2008), U.S Green Building Council’s (USGBC) LEED® for New Construction (Versions 2.2 and 3) and Major Renovation, USGBC’s LEED for Homes, 2008 California Green Building Standards Code (Title 24, Part 11), and Green Building Initiative™’s Green Globes™.
The program provides manufacturers the opportunity to have their products evaluated by ICC-ES. The evaluation, based on guidelines for sustainability, includes inspection of the manufacturer’s production process and product testing at recognized laboratories, where applicable. The end result is a Verification of Attributes Report™ (VAR™) which is available, free of charge, on the website.
The Directory of Reports lists products that have been evaluated under the SAVE™ Program. Manufacturers seeking to have their products evaluated should consult the Application Details.
A nonprofit organization, ICC-ES is the United States’ leading evaluation service for innovative construction materials and systems. ICC-ES developed the SAVE™ Program in conjunction with International Code Council (ICC) activities that are aimed at developing and fostering sustainable design and construction.
