
Guidelines for Verification of Attributes
Evaluation guidelines are developed, with input from industry and other interested parties, to use in verifying manufacturers’ claims about the sustainable attributes of their products. These guidelines address the production stage of the report subject beginning with raw material acquisition and progressing through final manufacturing and packaging (“cradle-to-gate”).
A Verification of Attributes Report™ (VAR™) verifies claimed environmental attributes within nine categories. These categories are:
